Patterson School Foundation Program Director Job Description

The Patterson School Foundation Program Director is presently a 24 hour/week position which will be responsible for overall Program development and management, including but not limited to the Incubator Farm Program, Agricultural courses, Art workshops and Wellness Programs. The Program Director will report to the Board of the Patterson School Foundation. Annual salary will be $24,000, one year assured, 2 weeks paid vacation, plus housing, utilities and garden plots if desired. We will consider applications through August 1, 2018.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong grant writing experience
• Must have an understanding of and enthusiasm for organic and Sustainable Agricultural Practices
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with management, program development and implementation
• Computer/internet skills
• Hands-on farming experience is preferred, but not required
• Ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team
• Neat, clean and professional appearance and demeanor
• Efficient time-management skills; organized

Marketing and Recruitment Duties
• Project a positive representation of the Patterson School Foundation to the public and cooperating partners
• Contact businesses and groups by phone, email and in person for marketing PSF programs, developing partnerships and getting sponsorships
• Submit monthly articles to website and email database list, to keep PS alumni and community informed and engaged
• Update Facebook page weekly with relevant posts regarding program schedule and activities
• Develop all marketing materials for each program, register participants, collect
workshop participant evaluations and integrate recommendations

Program Duties
• Write future grants; pursue new grant funding and manage existing ones
• Work with PSF board to identify new program opportunities for the Foundation
• Communicate upcoming needs to relevant PSF subcommittees
• Develop budget for each program offered, collect fees or invoice where appropriate
• Supervise Farm Manager and lead Farm Manager’s bi-annual performance review
• Develop training and technical assistance for Incubator Farmers, and keep IF participants informed of opportunities
• Coordinate with Kitchen lessees regarding their needs and any IF’s kitchen needs
• Update and distribute Incubator Farmer contract
• Prepare required reports and grant updates as necessary for the Board
• Continue to maintain and develop a usable database of program participants
