About the Instructor
Dawn Mathew’s began her homesteading adventure in 2009. When her dairy goat ate a toxic plant rendering its milk undrinkable for two weeks, she found herself in a predicament. What do what do you do with goats milk you can’t drink? You learn to make goat milk soap! Dawn now runs a successful soap and bath products business. She also makes cheese, goat milk fudge, caramel, and other dairy delights. And it gets even better. She and her family bought a piece of land in Lenoir and have been developing it into their dream farm since 2014. The Thankful Goat Farm became a WWOOF-USA farm in 2012 and accepts interns from that organization to help them live out their dream and teach others to farm.
